Welcome to the DeliveryBizconnect app Manual. In this lesson, we’re going to teach you how to set your taxes up in the DeliveryBizConnect system.
Step 1: Log in to smallbizdream.com. Enter the username and password provided to you. Click ‘I’m not a robot’, and Login.
Step 2: Go to Survey Setup by clicking Surveys on the left menu. Select Menu from the dropdown list to see your menu. If you look at Options beside one of the items, you’ll see that nowhere do you see anything about taxes.
We need to configure it to handle taxes for your local area.
Step 3: Click Configure on the left menu and go to Tax.
adding tax:
The first thing you’ll see is a Tax Name list. These are some of the common tax names around the world. Let’s say you’re in Canada and you have goods and services tax (GST) of 5%. Select GST, type in the Tax Rate, and Click Add.
If you go back to the menu in Survey Setup and click Options in one of the menu items listed, you will actually see that you have the ability to add GST to this item.
adding multiple taxes:
Some places have multiple taxes. In the case of Canada you could have GST and a PST or provincial sales tax in British Columbia. This doesn’t usually apply to restaurants but for the sake of illustration we’ll go ahead and add PST. We’ll set the Sort Order to 60 so it comes after GST.
adding a new tax name:
You can add a new tax name aside from what’s already in the Tax Name list. So for instance, in Canada and in a lot of jurisdictions they have a liquor tax. Select Add New in the Tax Name and enter a new tax name. In this case, Liquor Tax with a Tax Rate of 10%
When we go back to take a look at our menu, we can see GST, Liquor Tax, and PST. So it’s just as simple as adding and assigning what taxes apply.
That’s how you can have everything worked out on your menu and collect taxes appropriately.
